Our Physicians

Mr Adjogatse is a Consultant General Surgeon with a Special Interest in Breast and Laparoscopic Surgery. He has over 30 years practice in some of the prestigious hospitals in the UK. In addition to clinical work, he has been involved in the training of Medical Students, Postgraduate Doctors and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. He had his primary medical qualification from the University of Ghana Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has expertise in keyhole surgery of the gall bladder, appendix and hernias.

He is passionate about effective patient-doctor communication. To this effect, he talks to his patients in the language they can understand, uses diagrams and pictures to illustrate points, and encourages patients and their relatives to ask questions. When patients understand their problems, they are more likely to comply with their treatment recommendations.

As a breast specialist, he is keen to help break taboos associated with Breast Cancer in Ghana. The mantra is Early Detection Saves Lives. He helped set up the first Annual Breast Cancer Information Day in Ghana. He has given talks on Breast Cancer to many groups in Ghana to encourage women to examine their breasts and report any new changes. He is an advocate of Breast Screening, which is not yet universal in Ghana.
