Dr. Angela Durowaa Frempong is a dedicated Obstetrician and Gynecologist with several years of experience in women’s healthcare. She has dedicated her career to reducing maternal and newborn mortality in Ghana. In addition to clinical work, she has played a significant role in healthcare management, training, and mentorship of medical professionals. She obtained her primary medical qualification from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she earned a B.Sc. in Human Biology and an MBChB in Medicine and Surgery. She is a Member of the Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons (Obstetrics & Gynecology). She has further enhanced her expertise with a Certificate in Health Administration and Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Dr. Frempong has worked in leading medical institutions across Ghana, including Nyaho Medical Centre in Accra, where she served as Divisional Lead, Women and Child Division. She has also held positions at Ashanti Regional Hospital and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, overseeing obstetric and gynecological care, managing clinical programs, and leading medical teams. Beyond patient care, she has been actively involved in medical education, serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Garden City University College and mentoring resident doctors. She has also held leadership roles, including Deputy General Secretary of the Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Ghana. Dr. Frempong was honored with a Presidential Award – National Grand Medal in 2023 for her role in COVID-19 management in the Ashanti Region. She is passionate about advancing maternal health, implementing modern medical knowledge, and ensuring that women receive the best possible care. Her interests include reading, singing, and cooking.
